Chris turned a lifelong passion for boats into a career when he completed a City & Guilds qualification in traditional boatbuilding at ‘The Boatbuilding Academy’ in Lyme Regis, Dorset, England in 2001. Working for MB Yachts in Poole, Dorset and then on a small team building a 70ft luxury yacht in Galway, Ireland, he built up enough experience to start his own business in 2007.

That has gone from strength to strength with CMC Boat Building & Carpentry having a reputation for excellent workmanship and reliability, that has grown up and down the Shannon River. He works for a mix of private boat owners, hire boat companies and boat sales companies, doing predominantly interior fitout and repair, as well as touching on almost all aspects of boat repair and restoration.

His attention to detail according to clients’ needs is second to none. He is very proud of the fact that every single project is carried out to the best of his ability and to the very best of standards. Word of mouth in the boating community is very important and the fact that he has never had to advertise his services, speaks volumes.
