Your completed boat is our aim, in an agreed timeframe and with the client fully involved with all stages of the build, if required. TRADITIONAL WOODEN BOATS
Originally trained to construct traditional wooden boats from start to finish our work has included private commissions, community projects and even maritime art installations! Whether it’s clinker or carvel, cold molded or modern wood construction we can fulfill your requirements. Wooden boats are beautiful but often belie the hours and hours of work that are involved in their construction, not to mention the passion that goes with it. The boat building skills we offer are traditional, extensive and of top quality. We pride ourselves in the quality of our craftsmanship and nowhere can this be seen better than in a beautiful traditionally built wooden boat.
RESTORATION & REPAIR
Over the last 20 years CMC Boat Builders have undertaken a wide variety of restoration and repairs, including modification to boats. Work commonly involves window repair, resealing and making your boat completely watertight. Other repairs include structural timberwork, finished timber and paintwork, all aspects of GRP repair, steel boats and wooden boat restoration.
Often we have been commissioned to make accurate repairs to panels and cabinetry which have suffered water damage and pride ourselves to make repairs as authentic as the original. Testimonials below indicate how our client base has been satisfied with our standard and quality of boat work.
Canoes
Being some of the smallest craft on water, canoes and kayaks can offer the most fun and adventure to be had on water.CMC Boat Builders can offer the finest built bead and cove strip plank canoes,to any design and specification. INTERIOR FIT OUT
Beginning with a basic boat shell, CMC Boat Builders have been commissioned to build complete boat interiors, to alter existing interior layouts and to come up with practical solutions for the boat owners needs. Using a wide variety of laminates and composites we can modernize and improve the functionality of your boat interior. Fully competent with plumbing, electrical and gas installations, CMC Boat Builders can provide a complete service to enhance the interior of your boat. A well maintained boat will often hold it’s value and character and indicates that the owners care for and cherish their boat.
Decking
CMC Boat Builders have often undertaken extensive repair works to boat decks. Beginning with ensuring deck substructure is sound, we then provide whichever deck surface is required for your boat. This would include deck paints (non slip and rust preventing) and finishing, synthetic teak decking through to top quality genuine Burmese teak decks. Swim platform repairs, swim ladders and fly bridge decks all come within our remit and again testimonials below will speak for the quality of our workmanship.
